The Cuppa Travis Tea Podcast: What Is It?
Over the last decade (or so), members of the human race have used new tools to do something which is perhaps unique to our species: spin a story. Therefore, consider The Cuppa Travis Tea Podcast as yet another modern-day example of a special human tradition practiced for quite some time (in human terms): telling stories.
My podcast, The Cuppa Travis Tea Podcast, is 100% commercial-free. On the first of every month, I shall upload a new episode. Episodes shall—for the most part—consist of nothing more than a single essay, and the form which each essay takes shall depend on what it is that intrigues me at a specific moment in time.
The Cuppa Travis Tea Podcast: Why Do I Like This Medium?
My business is that of an author. Principally, I write fiction and nonfiction about the current shape of the United States of America. The reason: Because I am an American citizen. However, when I read the work of others in this time period (i.e., the Age of the Anthropocene) who take the time to observe events throughout the planetary biosphere of today, I discover that there is much material from which I can draw upon for inspiration in my own artistic work.
For an author, a podcast is akin to an audio-book because the podcast medium offers an author an extra avenue to tell a story to an audience. After all, as a podcast episode plays, from beginning to end, the audience can drive a bicycle, a car, a motorcycle, or a truck; the audience can sit on a seat in a bus, in a train, or in an airplane; or the audience can perform a myriad of other actions simultaneously, like operating a tractor over the fields of a farm. In short: a podcast permits an author to make an audio recording of a story for an audience.
The Cuppa Travis Tea Podcast: Is It a Podcast for Everyone?
Yes.
On my website, Cuppa Travis Tea, each episode of The Cuppa Travis Tea Podcast shall have the following components. First, the audio recording shall appear above my essay. Second, my essay shall follow the audio recording. Third, videos, images, or articles may appear interspersed throughout my essay. However, these secondary sources only serve to supplement my artistic work.
You see, to me, dear reader, my artistic work is the thing, and my podcast is just an additional course through which my work as an author of fiction and nonfiction can reach you. Thus, I will leave it up to each member of the audience to determine the manner in which she or he chooses to consume my artistic content.
